The Staveley Arms has been shortlisted!

We’re absolutely chuffed to announce that The Staveley Arms has been shortlisted at the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards. In association with the Darlington and Stockton Times, these awards recognise the best of the best in Yorkshire cuisine.

The Staveley Arms is up for two prestigious awards: Pub Food of the Year, and Young Professional Chef/Catering Student of the Year. We’re incredibly proud of our resident young professional, Jack Baldwin!

As part of the awards, The Staveley Arms will also be shortlisted for the Darlington and Stockton Times Readers’ Choice Awards, which will be open to the public vote.

What’s next for The Staveley Arms

As part of a rigorous judging process, The Staveley Arms will be visited by a ‘mystery shopper’ at some point between February and March 2022. The discerning judges will be looking out for outstanding flavours and first-class hospitality – as well as keeping an eye on our young professional chefs.

The winners will be announced at the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards on Monday 9th May, between 11am and 2:30pm. Tickets are now on sale for the event, which takes place at Solberge Hall, Newby Wiske, South Otterington, Northallerton, DL7 9ES.

You can book for Sunday lunch, private dinners or light bites. We also offer corporate event bookings for those looking to entertain their clients and staff.

Fingers crossed for Monday 9th May!

We’d like to offer a huge congratulations to our young professional chef Jack Baldwin for his nomination – as well of the rest of the staff for their incredible dedication to making this pub the best it can be. Watch this space!
